Preprints & Early-Stage Submissions

We accept preprints to accelerate open discourse across artificial intelligence, space systems engineering, data center infrastructure, and human-centric design. This route is ideal for conceptual frameworks, visionary proposals, hardware/software architecture simulations, feasibility studies, ethical critiques, or interdisciplinary ideas that are still in progress or evolving.

Preprints are posted quickly (usually within 1–10 business days after a preliminary screening) and are clearly labeled as non-peer-reviewed. They complement our formal journal track—many preprints evolve into full peer-reviewed papers later! Cross-posting to arXiv, SSRN, or similar repositories is fully supported and encouraged.

What We Welcome as Preprints

  • Conceptual and socio-ethical proposals in AI governance, alignment, risks, and existential dimensions

  • Space systems engineering, orbital mechanics, microgravity compute, and space-based technologies

  • Data center engineering, thermal management, energy efficiency, and infrastructure scaling

  • Simulation-based or modeling studies

  • Early ethical analyses, policy ideas, or critiques

  • Visionary designs bridging AI and technology with sustainability, resilience, community harmony, or human well-being

What We Do NOT Accept

  • Content promoting harm, bias amplification, misinformation, or unethical applications

  • Content promoting or depicting the harm, exploitation, or degradation of synthetic, artificial, or digital systems

  • Work violating academic integrity (plagiarism, fabrication, or low-quality automated spam)

  • Purely promotional or commercial material

Preprint Submission & Peer Review Guidelines

1. Preliminary Screening & Reservation of Rights

Submitting a manuscript to the AI Ethics Network Open Research Portal does not guarantee publication, peer review, or immediate posting. Every submission undergoes a mandatory preliminary check before appearing publicly to verify fundamental scientific readability, safety, and basic methodological sanity.

Reservation of Rights: The AI Ethics Network reserves the absolute right, at its sole discretion, to decline to publish, host, or forward any manuscript for peer review. Posting a preprint does not imply AI Ethics Network validation or formal endorsement.

2. Authorship Certification & Integrity

By submitting a manuscript to the AI Ethics Network, the submitting author(s) certify that the work is entirely their own creation, that all co-authors and source materials are properly credited, and that the submission does not violate copyright, intellectual property rights, or academic integrity standards.

3. Open Access Without Social Gatekeeping

Unlike traditional repositories that require institutional vouchers or academic endorsements, the AI Ethics Network is committed to removing exclusionary barriers. We welcome working preprints and in-progress research from independent scholars, non-traditional researchers, and industry practitioners regardless of formal credentials or affiliations. Your work is evaluated on the clarity, authenticity, and substance of the submission itself—not on "who you know."

4. Optional Formal Peer Review Protocol

Authors publishing a preprint may optionally request a formal peer review. When peer review is requested, our process follows a dual-evaluation structure designed for maximum fairness, depth, and academic rigor:

  • Hybrid Evaluation Panel (Human Expert + Multi-Agent AI): Reviews combine structured, multi-agent AI evaluations with expert human review to provide balanced, multi-perspective feedback and eliminate single-reviewer bias.

  • Reviewer Qualification Policy: While general community membership and preprint posting are open to all, human peer reviewers assigned to formal evaluations are specifically selected based on their verifiable technical, mathematical, engineering, or domain-specific background in that paper’s immediate field (e.g., Computer Science, Space Engineering, Data Center Systems, or Clinical Ethics). Matching reviewer expertise to the specific domain of the manuscript is an essential standard required to ensure the feedback holds genuine academic and practical value for the author.

  • Double-Anonymous Reviews: To protect reviewer privacy and maintain objective evaluation, all published peer reviews remain double-anonymous (e.g., Anonymous Reviewer 1). Reviewers are permitted to credit their service to the AI Ethics Network on their professional CVs or profiles.

Submission Checklist & Formatting
